On December 3rd, 2022, Means Methodist Church (formerly Means Memorial United Methodist Church) was granted disaffiliation from the United Methodist Church (UMC), along with 144 other United Methodist Congregations in the Northwest Texas Conference of the UMC. This represented about 70% of the congregations in the area that stretches from Andrews to Abilene and north encompassing much of the Texas Panhandle area.
Andrews County experienced a difficult year with fatality crashes, including what authorities described as being the worst accident in the county’s history based on the number of deaths.
