Waldmann’s swimmers win Seminole Christmas event

Four relay wins and individual gold medal performances by Mary Murphy, Tucker Walker and Darin Powers was more than enough firepower to lead the Andrews High School swim program to the team title at the Christmas Invitational held in Seminole Friday and Saturday.

The Andrews Lady Mustangs 8 ‘A’ and ‘B’ basketball teams managed a split in their two games at Fort Stockton last week.

Despite losing last three, AHS girls are competitve in own Corbin tournament

After coming from behind to beat Alpine in their first game of their annual Kristen Corbin Classic, the Andrews Lady Mustangs dropped their next three games to end up 1 and 3 for the tournament. The 1-3 mark dropped Coach Quint Anthony’s girls to 2 and 13 for the season.

On the bright side, Andrews was competitive in all three defeats falling to Wink 42-36 after getting outscored 17-13 in the fourth; losing to Snyder 50-39 after trailing by just five going into the final period and losing to Denver City 41-38 after leading at halftime 20-19 lead.
