If they play, Mustangs picked to run away with 2-4A league title

On paper, the Andrews Mustangs should have a good football team!

In the ‘to be honest’ category – maybe not as talented as a season ago, but even at that, hands down the best team in 2-4A.

In another ‘to be honest,’ whether there will be a high school football season at all is 50/50 at best.

Thus, we will play the ‘assuming’ game and just say ‘yes’ on having a 2020 football season and go from there.

Once again, Coach Ralph Mason’s boys are easily the cream of the crop in 2-4A.

A lot of times I can consumed by my train of thought and just forget to save. Beside thought today’s highly acclaimed technology is supposed to save every five minutes automatically.

My computer has to be a male – how else would you explain that in the time of need – it’s a no show!

Twisters 14U boys win World Series title in Dallas area

Back in the day, the West Texas Twisters were a local girl’s softball team that dominated play all over the place.

Infante places third in Pro Series

One day back in 2016, Joel Infante and his wife Crystal and daughter Camille had his best high school friend, Ivan Payen, his wife Christina and kids Gavin and Max come to visit. The Payen family lived in North Carolina at the time and while talking Ivan asked Joel if he had ever heard of cornhole.

Without hesitation Joel asked him “what is that” and Ivan said, “You get these bags and throw them in the hole.”

Nothing has since been the same for either family!

Just not a lot of DI talent in West Texas!

Back a long time ago when I was writing for a daily newspaper in South Texas, the Valley to be more precise – I used to scratch my head when people in that region would talk about high school football.

To a person, they were all dead serious as to how good football was in the Valley.

How with a straight face – they thought they were better at the game played between hash marks than anybody else!
