Mustangs go 1-3-1 in tourney of champs

The Andrews Mustangs didn’t have the type of `win’ and ‘loss’ record they were hoping to while competing in the mostly 6A and 5A field at the Tournament of Champions in Midland, a tournament that is considered one of the best and toughest in the state.

AMS 7th track boys end up 2nd Mien relays

The Andrews Mustangs 7th boys track team settled for second place at the Lamesa Relays recently after scoring 147 points. Fifty-six of their points came in the relays where the 400 combo of Leeroy Millan, Kade Adams, Kevin Sanchez and Gavin Ortiz won with a 51.37 and the 1600 combo of Ryan Gafford, Ortiz, Adams and Juan Leos took first with a 4:17. The 800 team of Sanchez, Millan, Adriel Pacheco and Owen Lagabed placed second.
