Over the last few years the Andrews High School Powerlifting boys’ and girls’ teams have established themselves as one of the best overall programs and without a doubt one of the most talented in the area.

One meet into the season – it looks like 2019 is headed in the same direction under Coach Eric Pierce.

Behind a first-place finish by Raymond Flores and seven runners-up finishers, the Andrews boys totaled 48 points to win the team title at the Big Spring Invitational Saturday.

AHS girls beat FS to stay perfect in 2-4A

Two things have stood out more than anything in the last three district games for the Andrews Lady Mustangs.

Wins and Miranda Trevino!

After struggling to find wins throughout their non-district season, the Andrews Lady Mustangs all of sudden can’t lose!

And Trevino has a lot to do with it!

For the second district game in a row, Trevino paced the AHS offense Tuesday night in Fort Stockton to lead Coach Annie McKee’s girls to a 41-33 district win.

The Andrews Mustangs basketball team went, won and improved all in four quarters of basketball Tuesday in Fort Stockton.

That was more than enough!

With junior Brett Leach scoring 31 points to almost singlehandedly outscore the Panthers, AHS claimed a lopsided 63-33 league road win to improve to 2-0 and set up a big-time showdown with a talented Seminole team considered the best in 2-4A here Friday.
