In the ‘facts don’t lie’ category – the Andrews High School swim program of Mike Waldmann completely dominated both Seminole and Big Spring during their annual ‘Black and Gold Double Dual’ meet.
Down 22-20 and 69 yards away from the end zone against Odessa Compass Academy, the Andrews Mustangs 8th ‘A’ football team did all the things good squads do to pull out a 26-22 victory.
The Andrews Mustangs 8th ‘B’ football team recorded their second shut-out win in a row downing the Levelland Loboes 16-0. Andrews was coming off a 26-0 win over San Angelo.
The Andrews Mustangs team tennis program not only won the district championship under first year AHS coach Rick Garcia but they beat Fabens in bi-district last week to advance to the second round. Andrews is set to play Seminole next with the winner advancing to the third round against Brownfield probably Tuesday.
It was an exciting game Thursday night in the Mustang Bowl as the Andrews JV hosted Lubbock Estacado. In a game that was much closer than the final score made it appear, the Mustangs suffered a 3418 district loss.
