Sexual abuse of a child case goes to trial in district court

A 12-person jury was seated Tuesday in 109th District Court for a trial involving an Andrews man accused of sexually abusing two children, according to the district clerk’s office.

The following arrests recently occurred in Andrews County: Delaney Sharee Thames of Andrews on Feb. 16 for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, surety bond $10,000; possession of controlled substance Penalty Group 2 less than a gram, surety bond $7.500; possession of marijuana less than two ounces, surety bond $2,500.

Drivers escape injury during two-vehicle crash on Feb. 10

A two-vehicle crash the afternoon of Feb. 10 in northwest Andrews resulted in moderate damage but no injuries, according to police.
