Kristan Sweatt still recalls the teacher’s loud scream that day.
The serious tone in the educator’s voice lingers in Sweatt’s mind.
It was Sweatt’s initial sensory experience from the tragic incident that shocked the nation nearly 20 years ago.
“I remember a teacher throwing the door open and screaming our country is under attack,” Sweatt recalled.
Sweatt was a sixth grader at Andrews Middle School on Sept. 11, 2001—the morning America was jolted by the terroristic attacks on the Twin Towers and other areas.
