Gasoline prices in Texas have risen 1.1 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.92/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. This compares with the national average that has increased 0.5 cents per gallon versus last week to $2.24/g, according to GasBuddy.

Average gasoline prices on January 14 in Texas have ranged widely over the last five years:$2.27/g in 2018, $2.14/g in 2017, $1.71/g in 2016, $1.87/g in 2015 and a high of $3.09/g in 2014.

Perhaps the biggest change with this year’s Andrews County Junior Livestock Show and Sale involved kicking things off with steer and heifer showing and judging.

That move went off without a hitch Tuesday afternoon at the Andrews County Expo Arena.

“Everything went very well,” Andrews County Junior Livestock Association Secretary Anne Stokes said of the first day.

Cattle entries were slightly down this year, which resulted in the 5:30 p.m. start, while rabbits followed at 6:30 p.m.
