An Andrews man who threatened to shoot his estranged wife and her father, and for discharging a firearm into the air, received judgment last for the crime during a hearing last month in 109th District Court, according to a criminal disposition report from the district clerk’s office. Jonathan Jeremias Ruano received two years of community control, two years of probation (deferred adjudication), 250 hours of community service and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and complete a program on May 7 on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Ruano was arrested on July 7 of 2023 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, terroristic threat of family/ household and possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1/1B less than a gram. A total bond amount of $62,500 was set on Ruano, who posted bail and was released from custody several days after his arrest, according to Andrews County Jail records.
