A San Antonio man who was arrested Nov. 23 after making derogatory messages about Andrews ISD’s tragic school bus accident and threatening Andrews students with violence through social media was extradited to Andrews this week, according to police.

Man who pointed gun at teen gets 20 years

An Andrews man who was arrested in June for pointing a gun at a teen during an argument at a southwest Andrews County residence was sentenced during a recent hearing in 109th District Court, according to a criminal disposition report from the district clerk’s office.

The Texas Music Educators Association held the Region 6 Junior High All-Region Choir Auditions on October 16. Competing against over 25 schools, grades 7-9, 28 Andrews Middle School choir members qualified for the Region VI All-Region Choir. The concert was held on November 6 at Bonham Middle School in Odessa, TX. We would like to recognize these students for this high achievement:

The Texas Music Educators Association held the High School Region 6 Choir Auditions on Saturday, October 2, at Permian HS. 23 Andrews High School Choir members qualified for the Small School All-Region Choir, and 16 of those qualified for the Pre-Area round of auditions. Those qualifying for the Pre-Area auditions were in the top 12 of their voice parts and will audition again. If they are in the top 8 of their voice part at the end of the Pre-Area Auditions, they will qualify to audition for the Texas All-State Choir in January.
