Andrews County Pecan Show Fast Approaching

Pecan enthusiasts, the leaves are turning and the pecan shucks are splitting! This is your sign from Mother Nature that the Annual Andrews County Pecan Show is fast approaching. The Annual Pecan Show will be held Friday, December 6th, 2019 at the Extension Office located at 851 E. Broadway Street.

Odessa College Thanksgiving Observance

The Odessa College main campus and the extension campuses in Andrews, Monahans and Pecos will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holidays from Wednesday, November 27 through Sunday, December 1st.

The College and extension centers will reopen for classes and normal business hours on Monday, December 2nd.

Not everyone gets the holidays off.

While most people will sit down to traditional Thanksgiving meals, watch football games and have a relaxing day, a smaller percentage of folks will remain on the job.

Included in the smaller mix that will have to wait a little longer for a turkey leg are law enforcement officers that patrol and protect the community and provide other constant services.

Regulating agency approves WCS Performance Assessment

Waste Control Specialists announced that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved the WCS Updated Performance Assessment (PA) for its Compact Waste Facility and Federal Waste Facility. The PA highlights the unique geology of the site making it an ideal location for the safe disposal of low-level radioactive waste. TCEQ’s approval was received on October 30, 2019, and updates are required every five years.
