See it anyway you want, but for a basketball team that had not won a single game going into district play, the Andrews Mustangs have been pretty impressive.
Playing what more than likely was the last time to play in front of their home crowd at the PC, three Andrews seniors scored in doubledigits to spearhead a onesided 60-27 district win over Monahans to secure the third place spot in the final standings with a 6-wins and 4-losses mark.
The Andrews Mustangs 8 ‘A’ basketball program had very little trouble taking care of Big Spring in their latest game, rolling to a one-sided 53-15 victory. A 15-2 second quarter run by the Mustangs pretty much put the game out of reach and a 25-5 second half blew the game wide open.
The Andrews Lady Mustangs 7 ‘B’ basketball girls split their last two games, losing to Levelland, 35-11, before rallying in the fourth quarter to beat Fort Stockton, 24-21.
