DeLuna wins two gold medals to help Andrews 7th track boys win district

Adrian DeLuna captured the only two gold medals for the 7th grade Andrews Mustangs track team, but that was more than enough to carry Coach Andrew Tijerina’s young squad to the team title with 154 points at the district championships held in Pecos and Greenwood.

Pipes gets lone gold medal for track boys

Hurdler Jonathon Pipes produced the only gold medal win for the Andrews Mustangs varsity track team, but a total of 11 runner-up finishes at the Brownfield Relays last week amassed 131 team points to win the team title.

McGrough leads track girls to title

With senior Mireyah McGrough leaping an impressive 36’1” to win the triple jump, plus AHS sweeping the top three spots in the 400 and totaling 56 points in the relays with two firsts and a second, the Andrews Lady Mustangs ran away with the team championship at the Brownfield Relays with 188 points.

Olivas, DeBouse, Munoz and Tuck turned in plays of the game in road win

Two huge defensive put outs at home plate by the different combinations involving Aidyn Olivas, Jaesean DeBouse, Evan Munoz and senior catcher Hagen Tuck, with the Andrews Mustangs nursing a one run lead in Fort Stockton Tuesday, saved the night for the boys in ‘Black and Gold’.

Tucker Smith post best AHS golf score with a 73

The battle for a regional berth, and hopefully a state berth, for the Andrews Mustangs golf program took its first step Wednesday at the Rockwind Golf Course in Hobbs and, all in all – it was not bad.
