Council approves CM At Risk for Legacy Park

LEGACY PARK

The city council on Thursday approved a construction manager at-risk for the Legacy Park project that will honor local first responders and provide a historical museum near the chamber office off of W. Broadway.

Pharr & Co. of Lubbock will serve as the project’s CM at-risk, according to Andrews City Manager Steve Eggleston.

The Andrews Middle School choir director arrested late last month for child pornography was indicted on two counts by a grand jury this week in federal court.

Gary Lynn Ragland, 59, was indicted on one count of possession of child pornography and one count of attempting to receive child pornography. The indictments were handed down during a Wednesday grand jury hearing in United States District Court in Midland, according to court records.

Driver of pickup injured in major collision with Freightliner

A two-vehicle crash between a Freightliner and a company pickup resulted in injuries to the pickup driver, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at an intersection notorious for wrecks over the years—State Highway 115 and FM 181 southwest of Andrews.

Typically, wrecks occur at that intersection when one of the vehicles either disregards stop signs on FM 181 or fails to yield right of way.

The wreck this week resulted in major front end damage to the company pickup. The driver sustained what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
